Create a hidden folder manually

This is my third post on how to hide and lock files and folders. Check lock your folder without any software ( it is done using notepad) and hide your files and folder and password protect using free software.

In this post, I am going to share how to create hidden folders in windows OS manually. This is done with the combination of two ideas, creating folder without any name and changing folder icon to blank space.

Step 1.Create the folder.

Step 2. Rename the folder to create nameless folder

We can do it by pressing and holding “ALT” and then typing “0160” while renaming the folder created. If this does not work( specially for windows 7), don't worry. Do the following.

Go to start button and search for Character Map. From Character Map, select blank character and then copy as  shown below.

For windows xp, to find charater map go to start->all programs->accessories->system tools ->character map.

Go to the new folder created and hit “F2″ to rename and press “Ctrl+v” to paste. Now you should have a folder without name.

Step 3: Change the folder icon to blank.
Now,right click on the folder. Go to properties->Customize->change icon. Choose a blank as your icon and hit OK as shown below.

Yea then you have it. That is simply cool. Cheers!
