Ctrl+Alt+Del to log on

I remember, in many of the computer labs, we are  required to press Ctrl+Alt+Del to log on. What could be the reason? Why do we need to do that? Can we do the same for our own system?

The reason is simple. Requiring to press Ctrl+Alt+Del provides an extra layer of security by implementing  a bit of 'human touch'.
Ctrl+Alt+Del to log on
By requiring users to physically hit Ctrl+Alt+Del to access the log on screen in windows, you ensure that malicious programs (ones that try to mimic a system logon to hack passwords) can’t even make it through the first gate as after pressing Ctrl+Alt+Del only, one will be asked to enter the password.

Fine then, lets do it.( I am doing for windows 7)

Go to start button and then in the search box(search programs and files) type  "netplwiz". Click on it as shown below.
netplwiz

User accounts window will open up, then just click on advanced tap.At the bottom, you will see secure log in field. Then check the check box "require users to press Ctrl+Alt+Delete" as shown below and then click
"apply".

Now next time you log in, you will be asked to press Ctrl+Alt+Delete.
